Unleash your magic in Lichgate, a relentless survivor, action rogue-like where you, a powerful mage, must grow stronger to vanquish endless hordes of undead.Description: Lichgate is a twin-stick shooter-inspired survivor rogue-like where you use magic to vanquish hordes of undead and prevent the Lichgate from opening. Designed for replayability and mastery, it offers a fast-paced and rewarding experience.Team: Lichgate was developed by a dedicated team of second-year students over eight weeks using our custom-made Coral Engine, meaning nearly everything was crafted from scratch. The team comprised 3 designers and 6 programmers, showcasing our versatility as we worked without any artists.Weapons: At the start of each run, choose from three unique magic spells, each offering distinct mechanics, power scaling, and playstyles. Whether you prefer precision shots, rapid fire, or even a magical sword, we’ve got you covered.Perks: The game features 12 specialized perk trees, each with three tiers of upgrades. Synergies between different trees unlock tier 4 combo perks once the corresponding tier 3 upgrades are obtained. While there are many upgrades, choosing a path increases the likelihood of finding its subsequent perks.Level: Explore endlessly with our procedural terrain generation, complemented by hand-crafted points of interest. This combination allows for limitless exploration and discovery.Enemies: Enemies such as Warriors, Archers, Assassins, and Golems each have unique attacks that challenge you to adapt your strategies. Remember, as you grow stronger, so do they.Readability: We maintained visual clarity even with hundreds of undead (and their corpses) on screen through strategic color coding and other techniques to ensure seamless gameplay.
