About the Game

A spinoff game from OSM. While OSM focuses on club football, Bondscoachspel (BCS) was all about National Teams. With some major gameplay differences that gave it a unique "vibe":

- Tournament Focus: Instead of long seasons, you played through tournaments like the World Cup or European Championship.

- The "Joker" System: This was a fan-favorite (and highly frustrating) feature. You could hire a journalist to write a scandalous story about your opponent's team, which would lower their morale and performance.

- No Transfers: Unlike OSM, you couldn't buy players (you can't "buy" a player for a national team, after all). This meant your tactical settings were much more important than your budget.

- Bonden (Unions): This was their version of "Crews." You could join a group of other coaches to dominate the global rankings together.

Even though it had over 150,000 users at its peak, it always lived in the shadow of OSM. Gamebasics eventually realized that the "tournament style" had a major flaw: once a user was knocked out of a tournament, they often stopped playing entirely.

To streamline their business and focus on the massive global success of OSM, they retired Bondscoachspel on August 3rd, 2011. Many of its best features (like specific crew mechanics) were eventually integrated into the modern version of OSM.
